Disposition:
Reclusive: If she were to be boiled down to just one single noteworthy trait, this would be it. She’s an unparalleled shut-in, preferring the comforts of her own room to… just about anything, frankly. If not for the need for new books, crafting materials, food, and other literal necessities, she probably wouldn’t spend a second outside of her room that wasn’t strictly necessary. While this has become slightly less intense than it was five years prior during her school days, one fact remains the same no matter what timeline she’s in: from east to west, her nest is best.
Creative: This is both a boon and a bane to her. When safely shut away in her room or cloistered off alone in some corner, Bernadetta is a font of productivity. The skills explicitly mentioned in her canon appearances include embroidery, sewing, painting, playing an instrument, singing, raising plants, writing fiction, and cooking, among others. Interactions with the people around her who accidentally discover these talents imply that she’s notably skilled in these crafts, as well, The other side of the proverbial coin, however, is that she’s also very, very creative with her worst assumptions. Bernadetta is outlandishly paranoid. Even the most benign interactions can be twisted by her imagination to sordid murder plots or attempts to humiliate her. She demonizes her own flaws and how others might react to them, spiralling into wild flights of fancy and astounding leaps in logic.
Steadfast/Stubborn: Her paranoia sets in fast, and digs in deep. Once an impression is made, it sticks with her; it can take absolute ages to defuse the nervous bomb that is her certainty that any given person is determined to destroy her in some way or another. On the flip side, however, this also makes her particularly loyal and determined to stick by the few people she isn’t entirely terrified of, even in the face of a continent-wide war or her own looming death. Once she’s comfortable around somebody, even if anybody else might find them dangerous or terrifying, she will speak to them casually, brightly, and without a shred of hesitation, for the most part.
Fearful: As noted above, she is a person particularly ruled by fears. Notably, her fears are tied to other people; their opinions turning against her, their plots targeting her, that they might want to torment her, that they’re aiming for her life. More than that, she fears failing expectations, as her childhood impressed upon her was all she could ever do, and more than that, she fears losing what few people she carefully decides to let close. More than anything, notably even death, what she fears is hurting others outside of the battlefield. Injuring or hurting others by accident is one of the few surefire ways for her to not flee madly from other people. In one conversation, she even admits that she can accept death as a constant possibility around her, and in the same breath also admits that even with her painful childhood, she chooses to turn that hurt inwards, rather than take it out on other people.
Low Self-Esteem: Frankly speaking, Bernadetta is without question her own worst enemy. Due to her father's abusive words and impossible expectations early in her life, as well as her reclusivity, she ends up as a one-woman echo-chamber of insults, pessimism, and cringing expectation of catastrophic failure almost any time she even thinks about reaching out or accepting somebody's attention. Her confidence occasionally rises, but if often immediately punctured by her anxiousness or some small stumbling block. But, it has improved somewhat in the five years since leaving school, at least.
Under pressure:
Bernadetta von Varley lives every single day of her life under pressure. A great majority of that is internally generated and due to her father’s cruelty and harsh, skewed standards during her early childhood, but she’s no stranger to living in what she perceives to be a new, dangerous, and uncertain place. She expects the worst, constantly, and her usual line of defense either on the battlefield or off of it is to find a safe space and hunker down. Her extreme apprehension compliments her abilities as a sniper, in a fight, and in a brand new world with new rules and more new people than she ever wants to meet, it means she will most likely fall back on school habits. Namely, she will find a room, make it hers, and then leave it of her own volition as sparingly as humanly possible, unless otherwise coaxed by the few people she trusts or the truly determined who she can’t convince to leave her alone. The addition of the network into the occasion will only reinforce her hermit-like habits, as she will be able to do radically more from the comfort of ‘home’, much to her delight. To counterbalance this, the introduction of Synchrony and more importantly the expected basic quotas, will stress her out more than any other aspect of this situation. Her certainty that she is dead or just about to be, upon her return to her world, ensures enough incentive for her to carefully, grudgingly, and glacially consider coming out of her shell. ...slowly. And maybe with a friend or two on speed dial for moral support.
Condition upon arrival:
Upon arrival, Bernadetta will be heavily bleeding out, burned, disoriented and convinced she is already dead. Immediate medical attention will be necessary.
Abilities:
The following skills are adapted from her in-game abilities to a more text playable format:
Crest of Indech (minor) - There's a chance for her to strike twice when using a weapon. It does not activate if she is using a Brave weapon.
Persecution Complex - Her attacks are strengthened when she is injured.
Bowfaire - Her combat skills are more effective when she is wielding a bow.
Bowrange + - Her area of attack is slightly greater than the average bowman.
Bow Prowess - Her overall skills are sharpened when she is wielding a bow.
Close Counter - When attacked, she has a chance to counterattack regardless of distance from the attacker.
Vantage - If her general health is under half of what it could be, she attacks first in combat regardless of who initiates the fight.
Stealth - She is less likely to be targeted by enemies in a fight.
Magic Bind - If she lands a hit, her opponent is unable to use magic the next 'turn'.
She also has a capacity to learn and use magic, though no currently established skills, and a budding talent in riding that can possibly be expanded upon.

Concoction: A moderate-grade healing potion
